8 hour diffusion

Because of the recent discoloration problems I observed with 24 hour diffusion using w670 and 673, I decided to try a shorter time point. 673 had a couple more samples to spare, so I tried an 8 hour diffusion experiment.  No discoloration was observed:

This is the normal color of the wafer.  Slits were not broken at end of experiment, but they did break when I rinsed and dried the chips.

The results from the diffusion show a cutoff higher than the pressurized separation was showing and does not show the characteristic “reduction” in lower weight retentate species that we are used to.  This is not the first time I’ve seen a higher cutoff in diffusion (refer to these two posts: diffusion pressure).  The lack of “reduction” may just be a result of shorter experiment.  The start sample looks stronger for all bands, and maybe it’d be a good idea to incubate the control on the surface in case adsorption plays a part in these results.
