I took some copper tape and made a bus bar for BBB device V2-8. I used tweezers to smooth down the surface of the tape on each planar surface, routing the copper to the back side of each face, then collecting the lines to one side of the device. I verified that the connections…
These are the graphs with burst pressures for wafers 187, 189, 310, 312 and updated burst pressure bookMembrane_Burst_Book.xls The orange columns in the graphs indicate samples that I used for air permeability tests before.
I have been working on using the membranes to trap blood cells so that I can take force measurements with the AFM. It is impossible to perform AFM on blood cells resting on a coverslip because the water displaced by the tip on the approach pushes them away, so I am trying to use a…
Here are two new designs for the new diffusion cells. Design_2 could be a better solution as it separates the two connections and uses screws to make the wire contacts to outside circuit. Please feed back any ideas to improve these designs. Dave and I probably will start working on it some time this week….
My goal for this experiment was to see whether vacuoles form in primary cells. If they did, this makes the case that the results with bEnd3 are more physiologically relevant since primary cells are better models of in vivo behavior. Here, I simply seeded P8 HUVEC at 50000 cells/cm2 on plastic wells, PET and pnc-Si…
The goal of the experiment was to use a fluorescent dye to label live cells in order to measure proliferation over several days. To avoid cell toxicity, the intensity of the fluorescence was reduced to ~1.5%. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were seeded in a a 96-well plate at a density of 5000 cells…
