I recently received three pinhole-ridden wafers for cell-related experiments. All three have been RTPed at 800C for 5 minutes in argon, which is the typical procedure we have been using for cell culture. The bursts pressures for each wafer are shown below.
W520 is weaker than 558 and 559; I plan on using the stronger wafers first to reduce membrane breakage by handling.

This is the original contact angle study performed using the DeLouise Lab’s Rame-Hart contact angle measurement tool. The entire study was performed on 8/1/06-8/10/06. Observations: Contact angles of non-plasma oxidized samples start ~60 degrees and increase over about 10 hrs to ~75 degrees. Keeping the samples in diH2O halts this gradual increase. I repeated the experiment with samples from #703. Two samples were in a dish with one flipped over. Again, the ‘well side up’ sample (flipped) discolored earlier as seen in the 24 hour time point in the figure below.
