moving average angle autocorrelation and wound healing analysis
Traditional Wound Healing Analysis (the implicit gold standard)
Wound recovery is reported base on the closing of the two wound edges.
Proposed Wound Healing Analysis (cell counting/tracking methods):
Wound recovery is reported base on the migration/movement of the wound healing cells.
Recap on angle autocorrelation
We look at the correlation of angles between adjacent steps for all step sizes. Essentially, the different step size represents the sampling of cell migration at different frequencies.
Example 1: Straight path with a suddent change in direction:
Example 2: Travel in a straight line then return in the same path from an opposite direction:
Example 3: Travel in a squared path
Example 4: Repeated travel in the same squared path 4 times
