Pore Processing Software Updated in MATLAB App Designer Language (v0.7)

MATLAB updated the way that it creates GUI applications back in 2015, and it is increasingly becoming more functional. Over the years I have been here, we have had more than a few requests to use our pore processing software. I have sent it out, but it’s not as intuitive for some people to use or install. I have started recapitulating the functionality of our software in the modern MATLAB App Designer script. Ideally, we would publish a standalone application that someone could run without knowledge of MATLAB.

I’ve made a few mistakes here and there in the video

The major functionality that I have not been able to recreate yet is the ability to select individual pores and remove them, which is extraordinarily useful. Over the longer term, I hope that I can incorporate some of the work Dan has been doing with machine learning to identify new features of the pores that may tell us new things about the manufacturing process (top and bottom diameters of pores, siloxynitride scum textures, pits vs pore ratios).
