Pressurized Gold Separations – Part 3
Dan Mendelson performed gold separations using wafer 255 and has shown that this wafer has a cutoff for gold near 25 nm. Below I have plotted the data of filtrate gold concentration as a function of the feed concentration for the three wafers we have tested. The bottom panel is a replot of the Malvern data from wafer 199. These are the panels we will use for the Science paper.
Below is the Malvern plot from the wafer 255 fractionation of a 15 & 20 nm gold mixture. The stock solutions appear close in size and the separation does not appear as visually appealing, although possibly more significant because of this. I’m open to interpretation.
