ADSC Migration to HUVEC network (4 hr timelapse)
This is more work that Randi did looking at ADSCs migrating towards HUVEC networks. Motivation: To demonstrate the migration of ADSC toward pre-formed HUVEC networks when ADSC are seeded 4 hours after HUVEC. Method: Monday – Coat 4 wells of a 96 well plate with 100% Geltrex, place in incubator. Seed 20,000 HUVEC cells in…
Burst Pressures w391,w392
I measured burst pressures on two non-unifrom wafers w391, w393. They have lots of pinholes (especially w391) but the pressure they withstand is pretty high. I expected it to be much lower after looking at the membranes in the microscope.
concentration curve for PBS + Rhodamine
I mixed made solutions of PBS and Rhodamine with varying Rhodamine concentrations and ran them through the spectrometer. Below is the concentration vs absorption curve I made from it. I blanked the spec with PBS instead of ddH2O since the solution is in PBS. The slope is almost double for Rhodamine in ddH2O compared to…
Pore morphology is RTP time dependent (part II)
In the last production cycle, there were several wafers annealed for longer than our standard 1 minute RTP soak time. Recall in my earlier post, I observed a significant change in pore morphology in a 30 nm thick silicon membrane annealed at 1050 C for 1 min/5 min. In this series of experiments, we observe…
Bonding PDMS to SU-8, from URNano Workshop
This is the method Brian McIntyre developed for the recent URNano Microfluidics Workshop. Based on a polyaddition-based mechanism based on introducing amine groups onto the surface of one material and epoxy groups on another material and enabling the amine–epoxide polyaddition reaction at their closely contacted solid-to-solid interface to establish a covalent and permanent bonding presented in…
Analzying HUVEC Alignment Under Flow/1um Bead Shear Calculations
ByAlecMatlab Generated Endothelial Cell Alignment Distribution Top and Bottom Gel No Gel Bottom Gel Run 1 Run 2 Statistical Analysis The next step in this data analysis is to perform some form of statistical analysis. Comparing real alignment data to a set of randomly generated alignments may be a good place to start. Also, comparing the frequency…
