DI water buffer or thiol passivation?
I hope to bring this question to our group meeting.
As we discussed before, we know that Cl- can be absorbed at the gold surface to screen the applied positive charge. We are using R6G as the filtration species, which is positively charged. So we must either use DI water as the buffer solution (we must also use DI water to prepare for the R6G solution) or use thiol passivation to protect Au from Cl- absorption.
I don’t know if we can apply a potential between DI water and the conductive membrane. I don’t know if we could do thiol passivation at our lab, neither.
sorry forgot to add any tag before posting…
is there any way to edit or modify published posts??
(i.e. like some online forums, where the same author has the authority to edit his own posts?)
Yes, in the dashboard click on the “manage” button and you should be able to edit your own posts.
got it. I just updated all my “uncategorized” posts. thanks Dave!
