Fisher Team Update: Week 3

MAKING CHIPS

We now have our own SU-8 mold (with the help of Brian & Alex at URnano) and have started producing chips (see below) with our channel designs.  Together with the chips produced last week, we have accomplish one of our objectives:  To build a collection of chips for classroom use.  With the acquisition of a corona wand, mold-making experience and silhouette cutter, we are now well position to produce functional devices at Fisher, which is also one of our objectives.  Next week we will be testing whether we can produce lipid-based nano particles using our new chips.  After the 4th of July break we will begin to learn about nano membranes and how we can use them for our purposes. Lastly, we started experimenting a bit with channels made out of vinyl, in which bonding might not be required (see below).
