w705 Permeability and Separation

W705 performed well in terms of permeability and separation of Hybrid Silica Nanoparticles. No water passed in the wet/dry format (no matter ozone or testing configuration – centrifugal or pressure cell). Reasonably high flow rates when tested in wet/wet configuration in the centrifuge. PVP enabled flow in the pressure cell in an otherwise wet/dry configuration. Permeability measurements are likely low for PVP because flow initially started very slowly and increased as the bottomside of the membrane became fully wetted.

Particle Separations

The max pore size is reported to be approx 45 nm. So I tested for passage of 10 and 45 nm Hybrid Silica particles (which are not monodisperse, but have a small distribution as well).

Absorbance (@ 650 and 550 nm) – after about 100 uL of 500 uL fluid passage in a PVP setup
